    Wednesday evening pursuit series. This registration is only for July 24. Registrations for August 7 and 21 will be available shortly.

    Events include:

    • 500m and 1K TT, 2K, 3K, 4K individual pursuit.

    The track will be open at 6pm for individual warmups – no motor paced warmup, rollers recommended. Racing starts precisely at 7pm.

    • Fields are limited to eight riders per event.
    • Discounts are available for riders who also volunteer to assist.
    • Minimum age 16. Must be track certified or approved by race director.
    • Registration closes July 22. Start lists will be provided July 23.
    Event fees:
    • $10/event
    • 50% discount if you register and agree to volunteer for two events.
    • $0/evening for volunteers only.

    This registration is for July 24, 2024 only. Additional dates are planned for August 7 and August 21, 2024.

      Monday Night Adult Introduction and Advanced classes from 7p-9p with coach Roger Ainslie.

      6-week series dates:

      • August 26
      • NO CLASS September 2 (Labor Day)

      • October 7

      Each session will last about 2 hours (plan to be on the track until 9p).

        Wednesday evening 6-week track class (7pm-9pm) with coaches Jeff and Bojac.

        Level 1 will learn the skills and awareness to safely and predictability ride on the velodrome. You will become a better cyclist and you will have a ton of fun.

        Level 2 is open to anyone who has completed Level 1 and will focus on personal track and cycling skills, race techniques, and simulated racing.

        Free loaner bikes will be provided if you do not have a track bike.

        6-week series dates Aug/Sept/Oct 2024:

        Each session will last about 2 hours (plan to be on the track until 9p).

        In order for Level 1 people to be certified to ride the track you must complete six sessions. There will be a makeup class on Oct 9, 2024.

          Have you wondered what riding the Velodrome is like, but haven’t been able to commit to the six-week course? Come ride the San Diego Velodrome with us!

          In this two hour class you will learn the basics you need to ride a bike safely on the velodrome. We provide the track bike, water, snacks, and two hours of velodrome basics. All you need is a pair of closed toe shoes, a bike helmet, and a good attitude! At the end of this class, you will be Safety Certified, and will be able to join the SDVA and ride the track during open track times.

          Please note, this is not a track racing certification course. Please see here for more info.

        The San Diego Velodrome Association (SDVA) is a public benefit, membership-based 501(C)3 nonprofit corporation incorporated under the laws of the State of California for the purposes of engaging in, promoting, encouraging, and otherwise supporting bicycle track racing, both as an athletic sport as well as a recreational activity, including such related activities as, but not limited to, bicycle safety programs, bicycle swap meets, and youth bicycling programs. The SDVA is granted a use permit by the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department for the use of the velodrome facility in Balboa Park. The SDVA is responsible for administering, conducting, coordinating, and/or promoting all bicycling recreational and racing activities, including events sanctioned under the provisions of the United Cycling Federation, the United States Olympic Committee, and/or the International Cycling Union (UCI) for the San Diego Velodrome.
